My Catapult's Name is Khan
The Syndicate was asked by Woodz Co. to create a catapult, as a thank you gift to the man who is an inspiration to billions of people worldwide and an admirer of the great, Dr. Sukhdev Kaur Bhatia, Shahrukh Khan.
This task was assigned to the Syndicate personally, by Dr. Sukhdev Kaur Bhatia herself. She has never been seen by sister factions to Woodz Co. This was the first time such an event had happened and we, members of the Syndicate are thrilled that we are the ones she met at such an occasion. This task is not as thrill seeking as the others we have encountered; however, it is the most honorary. To be able to create a gift for two legends is an honour that will forever be respected.
The instruction given to us was simple, we were assigned to create a catapult that could give the world a glimpse of what it is like to romance like Shahrukh Khan and what it is like to be romanced by Shahrukh Khan. This is an extremely difficult task; therefore, in order to tackle we are making an advertisement that will help it sell. Although we cannot make every product look like gold, but since this is a catapult created for two visionary icons, we, the Syndicate, are confident that it will have a legendary result.

Baby Steps to Creation

There were many catapult designs we could have used to create the catapult. First, we though about making a trebuchet, a seige engine used in the Middle Ages. The trebuchet is powered exclusively by the force of gravity, it uses a counter-weight, such as a lot of bricks or large pieces of wood to launch a projectile. This force of gravity rotates a throwing arm. The machine also contains a sling located near the end of the throwing arm which acts like a secondary fulcrum and is used to maximize the range of the projectile.
Another design that was considered was a tortion catapult, namely, the onager. An onager is a siege weapon that was used by the Ancient Romans. The onager is named after a donkey because Ancient Romans related the onager with the donkey, which is also called an onager, as they both delivered 'kicks.' An onager uses the a torsion force to load energy for the launch of the projectile. The torision force is created by twisting a large rope. In the onager, torsion, as opposed to gravity, is used to maximize the range of the projectile.
